Donor-Advised Funds (DAF)
If you manage a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF), supporting us is frictionless.
How to give via DAF: Search for our fiscal sponsor/nonprofit entity Coding it Forward [EIN: 82-1825067] via your DAF portal (Schwab Charitable, Fidelity Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, etc.) to recommend a grant directly to our program.
Corporate Gift Matching (Double Your Impact)
Did you know many employers will match your charitable contribution dollar-for-dollar?
How it works: Check with your company’s HR or CSR department to see if they use a matching platform like Benevity, CyberGrants, or YourCause. Submit your donation receipt to your employer, and they’ll do the rest—instantly doubling your support for student builders.
Other ways to support Hack Your Summer?
Beyond financial giving, it takes a village of seasoned operators to help students bring their ideas to life. Use the forms below to get involved as a mentor or a corporate sponsor.
Become an Industry Mentor
Got technical, strategic, or creative expertise you want to share? Our mentors drop in (virtually) to review project work, run short AMA sessions and workshops, offering guidance on where students can take things beyond what they could imagine — or help students get unstuck when they hit a wall.
This isn’t just for software engineers! Student builders are working across a massive variety of domains, including data strategy, creative media, policy, analysis, and community initiatives. They want to connect with folks across a range of backgrounds and learn about the diverse, real-world experiences that got you to where you are today.
Time Commitment: We’re asking mentors to commit to about 1 hour per week for either of our 4-week programs (or both!!!). But the scheduling is entirely up to your availability.
Help through in-kind support
Empower the next generation of builders by putting the right tools, infrastructure, and resources directly into their hands.
Tool & API Integration: Provide the cohort with specialized API credits, cloud hosting, or software licenses.
Licenses for Professional Tools: Grant access to the stack students need —whether that's video editing suites, team collaboration software, or advanced survey engines.
Sandbox & Data Access: Open up secure sandboxes or clean public data repositories so students can build, analyze, and test their projects against realistic, high-fidelity datasets.
Infrastructure & Compute Grants: Grant students access to GPU time, high-performance compute resources, or cloud environments.
